Getting To Know Ebony Wine & Spirits: Charlotte, North Carolina’s 1st Black-owned Wine and Spirits Company!
“This is a sponsored post. Ebony Wine & Spirits is a sponsor of Wine & Waterfalls Weekend 2022. All reviews and opinions expressed in this post are based on my personal view.” — @Toyin Ajayi
When we think about wine and vineyards, Black faces don’t always come to mind first. When I decided to do Wine & Waterfalls, I was determined to work with a Black-owned wine brand so we could support. When I learned more about Ebony Wine & Spirits, I was so excited! Being able to work with and elevate Black women in different industries is something Outdoorsy Black Women is passionate about and this was a perfect fit.
Ebony Wine & Spirits is Charlotte, North Carolina’s only Black-owned wine and spirits company. Owned by Camillya Masunda, the brand is inspired by her Congolese roots and her way of celebrating the history and heritage of vast Black cultures around the globe. Camillya has cultivated a variety of wines for the culture. From the Ebony Sparkling Rosè to the Kinshasa Sparkling Grape Wine, each wine has been developed to transport you and give the experience of luxury. I also appreciate how Camillya has woven her Congolese background into some of her wines using various flavors. Despite the odds facing any winery, not just one owned by a Black woman, their grapes are from a small private vineyard in Napa.
Since its launch Ebony Wine & Spirits has been placed in restaurants and specialty shops in over 10 states, including North & South Carolina, Georgia, and California. Ebony Wine & Spirits ships to 40 states and will soon be available to ship internationally. So if you’re one of our international members, you’ll be able to indulge and support too!
Outdoorsy Black Women is always excited to support and work with amazing brands by Black women. That’s why we’re honored to have Ebony Wine & Spirits as one of our sponsors for Wine & Waterfalls Weekend 2022! So if you’re coming and get ready to get your taste on!
Congratulations!
I cannot wait to visit this winery when I visit family in North Carolina!
