Taking Care Of Yourself Before & After A Round Of Adventuring

If you’re anything like us, the idea of getting out there and adventuring is perhaps one of the most exciting prospects possible. This world has plenty to offer us, and going out to make our own look and generate our best-shared experiences is perhaps the most fun that could ever be taken part in.

However, it’s also true to say that intensive exercise, long-form travel, demanding sports and outdoors survivalist living can be quite demanding, and may be taxing to our systems. As such, any exploration should also be met with appropriate rest.

This can encourage us to become more accustomed towards self-care while in exterior environments, like learning to camp, how to build a campfire, and even the art of cooking food outside in the best possible way. For others, it means caring for allergies, making sure we’re up to date with our medication, visiting our physician and dentist, and caring for our health needs despite our wanderlust.

In this post, we’ll discuss some excellent tips that anyone can use before and after a round of adventuring.

Stretch Your Muscles

A great stretching regimen not only helps you feel better, but it will aid your mobility, increase your flexibility, and limit your chance of injury. This is especially important if you’ve been taking part in what many would consider exercise, like abseiling, hiking, or even strolling a beach all week. You may even graduate to following a discipline like Yoga if you deem this appropriate, as over time, the meditative, strengthening stretches you’ll learn can really improve your overall wellbeing and prepare you for your next adventure in the best light.

Care For Your Skin

Even if you’re lucky enough to have darker skin pigmentation, sun exposure can still be damaging and sun cream can be a good way to protect against the effects of that. On top of that, regular moisturizing can help the skin remain strengthened yet supple, and natural skincare products will also retain the organic PH of your skin environment, allowing it to serve its main purpose – protecting your body and helping it remain as waterproof and protected as possible. Over time, this can help you grow in comfort and confidence.

Hydrate & Replenish Energies

Hydration is essential for those who are physically and even mentally active, as heading from place to place is draining and can rob you of your body’s natural fluids. With care, hydration can help you recover your best sense of self and improve how alert you are. It’s a non-negotiable approach, but you get to decide how you hydrate. Stay away from sugary drinks and alcohol as much as you can, as the latter is a diuretic and will dehydrate you if anything. With a worthwhile temperature-preserving flask, you can more easily drink throughout the day even as you travel, and with appropriate water refills you can make sure get your three to four litres of water each day. This is essential if you hope to travel with a coherent outlook.

With this advice, you’re certain to take care of yourself both before and after a round of adventuring.

  1. Great topic!
I was thinking about this very thing when I came home from a four day sightseeing kayaking trip. I’m exhausted now.

One of the things I do for test and recuperation is to clean up as soon as I get home. Even though I might be tired.. getting the gear unpacked, clothes washed, stuff put away might only take an hour but then I can truly relax and rest my mind without the anxiety of a long list of to-do’s 🧘🏽‍♂️
