Adventuring, Long Drives, Car Camping and More With The Nissan Murano

Many people don’t realize that I didn’t get my license until I was 30 years old, there were a few factors in that decision but my driver’s anxiety was one of them. One thing about me is, when I’m ready to do something, I just get it done. Once I decided to see the country and do more road trips, I knew it was time to conquer that fear. Getting past that is why I’m able to live my life as a full-time rver and how I’ve been able to see over 20 states so far.

I think the reasons that most of us used to pick a car have changed drastically over the years. Part of that reason is because our lifestyles have changed dramatically. Whether you’re living in a city that has a lot of traffic, going on car camping trips or a busy mom that runs errands day by day, we spend more time in our cars than we used to. That’s why when I had the chance to drive the 2025 Nissan Murano, I kept all of those factors in mind.

I fell in love with some of Nissan’s other cars in the past and I have to admit I wasn’t sure what to expect from the Murano because it just wasn’t one I had on my radar, but I FELL IN LOVE.

I was able to test this car out on winding country roads, in traffic on highways, and more. Circling back to my driving anxiety, while it’s something I have overcome it’s not something that truly goes away. Something they’ve included in the new models that was truly helpful was the massaging seats, you can choose from a variety of massage settings, mood lighting, and seat temperature. While this may seem excessive at first, when you factor in long road trips, time spent in traffic on the way to and from work, or just that time you may spend in the car with your kids… having these extra features makes all the difference in the world. And those massaging seats along with the overall drive of the car made me feel confident whipping and weaving on any type of road.

Most know I’m not a fan of fully autonomous cars, but I do love the ProPILOT Assist (1.1) feature that was included. I can see how it would be helpful if I wanted to go on a solo road trip, it doesn’t mean I’d be taking a sleep at the wheel lol, It just means I have that added assistance which would make that trip less strenuous.

So thinking about our Outdoorsy Black Women community, I asked about the car camping ability and I was surprised to hear that although they don’t market it that way, they have been keeping car campers in mind. The back seat is roomy but also wider than previous models, and the seats fold down completely flat… something to keep in mind if you’re doing any buildouts, it comes with a more powerful engine and the option for all-wheel drive. So that means you can take this on more interesting adventures than you imagined before. And for good measure, you get the panoramic moon roof which is perfect for stargazing.

The suspension was also a wow factor for me because when I went over train tracks or any rough roads, I could barely feel anything. The car hugged all the curves as I drove and again I found it to be an enjoyable drive as I turned on some music and just took in the scenery around me.

At the end of the day we spend a lot of time in our cars, there’s no reason it shouldn’t feel spa-like, amenities like the motion-activated lift gate that make life easier or qualities that give us the confidence we need to take it on any type of road. I’m happy to say the Nissan Murano won me over. And I have to mention that the Aurora Blue with the blue leather interior Is my favorite combination by far. Check out the video below of the interior.

And of course, even though I tested out the new 2025 Nissan Murano, I also got a taste of the brand new Armada. I did a rugged course testing out those features and had an amazing time! This gem has a tow capacity of 8500lbs and tows like a dream.

As I was a guest of Nissan, I also wanted to ask them about where they stood on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. So I would like to make sure I include their statement.

Whether with employees, customers, business partners, or the communities we serve, we believe that Nissan is a company for everyone. For nearly four decades, our commitment to respect and inclusion has been rooted in our values, shaped an environment where each of our team members can contribute at work, and ultimately contributed to the success of our business

Here are recent changes that Nissan has taken:

• Creating a formal process for the review and approval of our marketing partnerships and sponsorships to ensure that they align with business priorities and brand standards.

• No longer participating in third-party surveys or activations with outside organizations heavily focused on political activism.

• Aligning any required employee training to core business objectives such as business ethics and compliance, leadership, professional development that supports personal job performance and career advancement, as well as safety training related to facility operations.
